TECHNICAL
The strong, low-profile action of this gun is a development of the detachable lock MX8 created by Ivo Fabbri and Danielle Perazzi for the 1968 Mexico Olympics. Bob Braithwaite won trap gold with his B25 Browning but the MX8 became one of the most influential over-and-under designs of all time. The action of the Evans Perazzi, like many modern Perazzis, may not have a detachable lock but is otherwise
similar to the original MX8. It is powered by helical springs (MX8S may
have V-springs). With no detachable mechanism amidships, less wood needs to be removed from a critical area to accommodate the simpler action, consequently, the stock is stronger in its forward grip and head section. The front half of the action remains the same as Mx8-type guns. The inner action walls
have draws and wedges similar to a Boss. The trunnion hinging is similar to
Woodward or Beretta.
