A timeless Highland scene
When the Deputy Editor and her husband, Sam, took their summer holiday in Scotland, fishing and stalking were on the cards. This picture of Sam’s stag being brought off the hill received more than 1,000 Instagram likes. It shows garron pony Little Jock and Ben bringing down the beast at Gaick, in Perthshire, after a successful stalk. The pony track up to the top of the hill, known colloquially as the 27 Bends, was put in during the 19th century and was maintained by a team of
men employed for the purpose.
