AVOID BUYING STOLEN GUNS

The Field - - Country Queries -

QIs there any way of checking to see if a gun you are buying has previously been stolen? I have been caught out once before and don’t wish to be put in this embarrassing situation again.

AThe Gun Loss Register launched this year as an off-shoot to The Art Loss Register. The aim is to provide a simple and cost-effective way to ensure that a gun you are buying is legally for sale. The site has a centralised international database of stolen guns. You can use the site for a one-off search, supplying the make, model, calibre and serial number of the gun you wish to buy. This costs £10 plus VAT and one should usually receive a reply within 24 hours after payment has been received.
