Simon Coggan is another secondgeneration engraver, having been apprenticed to his father, Philip Coggan, in 1993. Coggan Snr is considered one of the finest engravers now working. Both father and son are based in Wales.

The Hand Engravers Association, founded in 2007, is the home of contemporary engraving. With the help of Holland & Holland and Purdey, the association promotes young gun engravers, including Lucy Moseley (Holland & Holland apprentice), Ruth Anthony and Samantha Marsden.
