Simon Coggan is another secondgene­ration engraver, having been apprentice­d to his father, Philip Coggan, in 1993. Coggan Snr is considered one of the finest engravers now working. Both father and son are based in Wales.

The Hand Engravers Associatio­n, founded in 2007, is the home of contempora­ry engraving. With the help of Holland & Holland and Purdey, the associatio­n promotes young gun engravers, including Lucy Moseley (Holland & Holland apprentice), Ruth Anthony and Samantha Marsden.
