FRESH FISH

For a variety of fish caught off British shores, opt for a selection box. For seasonal catches from West Country ports, Field & Flower’s (above) Large Catch of the Day Box (£26.95) contains four packs of white or oily fish and two ready-to-eat items. To recreate restaurant-quality fish suppers at home, subscribe to the Seafood Box (£55) delivery service offered by Wright Brothers of Borough Market, London. Or The Fish Society offers an enormous selection of fresh fish; save the Plat des Fruits de Mer (£62.70) for a special occasion.

OYSTERS

You don’t have to live by the coast to enjoy hand-picked oysters. Greendale (below) delivers 12 Carlingford Oysters (£14.99), with fresh catches from its fishing fleet sold online. The Haward family has been cultivating oysters since the 1700s. You can have Richard Haward’s Large Rock Oysters (£1.50 each), grown in the River Blackwater, delivered to your door. Or try the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company’s Large Whitstable Rock Oyster (£1.07 each); sustainably harvested by hand in Whitstable Bay.

POTTED SHRIMPS

There’s nothing better than a proper potted shrimp. Morecambe Bay family firm Baxters has been offering its Original Potted Shrimps since the 1800s. Stock up on

6 x 50g cartons (£25).

Furness Fish, Poultry & Game Supplies’ Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps follow a traditional, centuries-old recipe – buy 6 x 50g cartons (£22). Or try Stoberry Potted Shrimps (above), caught from the shallow waters off the Wash and hand peeled in Kings Lynn. Stock up with 6 x 50g cartons (£28).
