FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT

With the shooting season cut short by lockdown, many Guns may be hankering for some simulated action. If so, the West London Shooting School has two options: the first is a syndicate day at the Great Tew estate in Oxfordshire, which encompasses an array of simulated drives and elevenses and lunch; the second is the John Rigby & Co experience, which includes a ‘stalkers’ test’, in which participants take on a running boar target and have a head-to-head stand-off with a buffalo target. The Great Tew simulation is available on select days in late April, May, June and July (£255 per person), while the John Rigby & Co experience takes place on 19 May and 4 August (£240). PRAISE BE

As COVID restrictions begin to be relaxed, the National Churches Trust is encouraging people to visit places of worship across Wales later this summer, with a set of travel experiences that combine sacred heritage tours with kayaking, stargazing or willow-weaving workshops (explorechurches.org).

MAKING HAY

The Hay Festival has gone digital in 2021, hosting online conversations, debates and workshops that explore the key issues of today, including how to build a better world after the pandemic. The Festival runs from 26 May to 6 June and all the events are free to watch (hayfestival.com).
