STRIKER HUNT VOWS TO MAKE IT A HAPPY NOEL FOR THE TRACTOR BOYS

-

NOEL Hunt says his career at Leeds is over but the striker has vowed to deliver some festive cheer at Ipswich after joining on loan.

Hunt will join his brother, Stephen, at Portman Road until January at least after making just one Championship appearance for parent club Leeds this season.

And the 31-year-old believes he can keep the Tractor Boys on course for promotion.

“I don’t think I have a future at Leeds and it’s time to move on and it will be great if I can do that at Ipswich,” said Hunt.

“It was a very easy move for me, what with the manager here and his record and the way he likes to play.

“My brother’s here and I know a lot of the other lads as well which does help. I feel I have settled in already. I’m looking forward to my time here.

“The team is going well and hopefully I can help them stay at the top of the table over the next month and extend my stay.”

Joining Hunt at Ipswich is fellow Republic of Ireland international Sean St Ledger, who hasn’t played a competitive domestic match since August 2013.The 29-year-old centreback said:“I’ve been out of football for quite a while and I’m pretty lucky to join a club that have aspirations of getting in the Premier League.

“I’ve been close to coming here before. I spoke to the manager last year about joining but I was in the Leicester team at the time so things didn’t materialise.”
