Team mates

- AFC Wimbledon right-back

Best mate at the club? I’ve got a couple of close friends here – I’ve known Adebayo Akinfenwa for a long time as I played with him at Gillingham and spoke to him about coming here. Then since I first arrived at Wimbledon I’ve become good mates with Sammy Moore after I travelled in with him on my first day. The FIFA king? A few of the boys play it and Adebayo Akinfenwa must be up there. He likes all that attention that comes from him being the strongest player on the game! Worst dressed? A couple of the lads get on at Sammy about his gear sometimes, but unlike previous dressing rooms I’ve been in there is no-one particularly bad here. Dressing room DJ? Our goalkeeping coach Ashley Bayes loves a dance in the dressing room so is the one to put the tunes on. He plays a bit of a mix so there is something for everyone. He’ll choose something to get us going before matches but softer music if we have to be in early. The most skilful? Some of the young lads have a few skills on show, but Kevin Sainte-Luce especially. Late for training? A couple of boys including myself can get stuck in traffic on the M25 as we live far away, but nobody is too much. Neal Ardley is big on discipline, so everyone really tries to make it in on time. We have a big fining system run by two or three of the players – Kevin Sainte-Luce used to get fined a lot at the start of the year but he got warned so he tightened up.

Teacher’s pet? Last year Aaron Morris got a bit of banter about that, but we’ve not got anyone like that this year because again Neal Ardley wouldn’t stand for it! First on the dance floor? Ashley Bayes has a little dance when he is putting on the music, but aside from that Kevin Sainte-Luce and Adebayo Azeez both like to show off a few moves. Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party? Dannie Bulman is a bit of a clown and likes to make everyone laugh, so he definitely plays up to it a bit. He’s also the biggest joker in the dressing room so loves fooling around. The worst tattoo? One of the young guys – I’m pretty sure it’s Tom Beere – has a loveheart on their foot that they are always trying to hide. Otherwise they’re all pretty good, which is just as well with Sean Rigg, the tattoo artist, in the team. Never puts their phone down? Neal Ardley has banned phones at the training ground so no-one can get away with that anymore. However, away from the ground George Francomb and Callum Kennedy are always texting and calling. Going to make the best manager? I think Andy Frampton and Adam Barrett will make good managers and I’m sure they’ll go down that route. They’re good characters and have that type of aggression you need and know the game inside out, but are also able to see the funny side of things.
