WE FEEL GREAT NOT OVER YET

Robins winger’s halfway warning

- By John Hunter

CENTRALI MIDFIELDI

Jordan Henderson – Liverpool He’s improved massively over the last couple of years and proved a lot of people wrong. I’m sure he will make a great captain of Liverpool – even speaking as a fan.

LEFT MIDFIELDI

Jose Baxter – Sheffield United The range of his talents is unbelievable, especially the way he can pick a pass and how often he scores important goals. I really enjoyed playing alongside him at Sheffield United last season and remember some good battles against him when he was at Everton. He has found his level for now but he is a fantastic player.

RIGHTI IFORWARDI

Raheem Sterling – Liverpool He is an absolute wizard of a player and can often make other players look silly. He’s started showing that for England as well and he was always going to go far because he was a massively important player for us growing up. I think he will sign a new contract at Liverpool – why would he want to leave the best club in the world?

CENTREI IFORWARDI

Benik Afobe – Wolves He is a serious player who is just getting stronger and stronger. Going to Wolves has been a great move for him and the club. I’m sure he is just going to kick on and keep scoring goals for them – but hopefully not against us.

LEFTTI IFORWARDI

Harry Bunn – Huddersfield Town He is an unbelievably gifted footballer and a stand-out performer. We really missed him when he had a couple of injuries and I’m sure he will be hoping to kick on and make up for it with a great season next year.

FIRST-LEG hero Nathan Byrne insists the job is only half done as Swindon look to put Sheffield United to the sword tomorrow.

The Blades were blunted by Byrne’s last-gasp strike on Thursday and go into the semi-final second leg at the County Ground having to chase a result.

The pendulum swung the Robins’ way when winger Byrne fired home from 20 yards in the dying stages after a pulsating clash at Bramall Lane which was packed with incident and endeavour.

But the 22-year-old admits there was cause for optimism even before his late intervention in Yorkshire.

“The main thing we wanted was not to lose it,” he said.“If you take a draw back, then hopefully you can open them up but the goal came at a great time and they didn’t really have a chance to get back in the game.

“It’s obviously a very tough place to come – it’s one of the toughest stadiums to play at in the league. I thought the lads were outstanding.

“It’s a great feeling but we’re only halfway. The lads were happy on the way back but we’ll be fully focused on Monday night’s game.”

Swindon had coasted into the play-offs and boss Mark Cooper had the luxury of fielding 27 different players in their final five games of the season.

But that looked like it took its toll. The visitors were struggling to contain Sheffield United in the opening exchanges and Kieron Freeman tucked home Ryan Flynn’s cross in the 19th minute to give the Blades the lead.

Ben Gladwin’s missed penalty, after Byrne was felled, only added to the feeling it wasn’t to be their day before a stirring second-half fight back.

Inevitably, Byrne was the catalyst for the equaliser six minutes after half-time – his corner being powerfully headed home by Sam Ricketts.

And despite some late pressure from the hosts, former Spurs wideman Byrne dealt the decisive blow from outside the area with just seconds left.

“In the first half it was really hostile and I thought they were probably the team on top,” added Byrne.

“Then they scored, which I think helped us in a way because they suddenly sat off, there were
