CHAIR-BOY TAYLOR IS AN ONLINE SENSATION

- By Stuart Hammonds

TAYLOR HUNT is loving his new status as the world’s most famous ballboy – and revealed that a pre-match team-talk from Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth inspired his goal celebration last week.

The ten-year-old was first to jump on Aaron Pierre when the defender headed in a 95th-minute equaliser against Dagenham & Redbridge, and the online video of his part in the Chairboys’ bundle went viral, with more than three million views.

Invited down to the League Two club’s training ground on Tuesday morning to meet his hero and boss Ainsworth, Taylor – who was also interviewed by a Norwegian TV station – revealed: “I’m not known as Taylor anymore – I’m ‘the Wycombe ball-boy!’

“It was an amazing experience because I play for Wycombe Wanderers Elite Centre and it was so special to be selected as a ballboy. I was excited to watch from the side of the pitch.

“Gareth spoke to us before and said we’re part of the team as well, so if there’s a goal near us, we can go and celebrate as long as we don’t go on the pitch.

“I couldn’t believe it when Aaron put the header in and I was so happy – I thought‘ I just have to go over there!’

“I looked at my phone after the game and a few people were talking about the Wycombe ballboy, but I never expected it to go global. My friends tell me I’m famous now – I think maybe they are a bit jealous!”
