WORK IS THE KEY FOR DUO – YATES

-

CRAWLEY Town boss Mark Yates has laid down a challenge for midfield duo Bobson Bawling and Conor Henderson to earn their places in the Red Devils squad.

Bawling, 20, has made seven appearances for Crawley this season, while 24-year-old Henderson has featured just three times, most recently towards the end of September.

Both have been left out of Yates’ matchday squads altogether in recent weeks and the Reds manager expects the young duo to work hard in order to change that.

“It’s just one of those things,” said Yates. “Unfortunately I can’t name ten or 11 subs. The door isn’t shut on them but they know they have to work and try to get back in.”

And Yates believes it is a similar situation with former Southampton striker Lee Barnard, who has had to wait patiently for his opportunities, regularly stuck on the bench behind Matt Harrold.

He added: “Matty has the shirt at the moment and he has been doing pretty well, so Lee just has to be patient and when that chance comes along, take it.”
