BETTER THAN SCORE SUGGESTS

Argyle boosted their promotion credentials with a scorline that didn’t do justice to their overwhelming superiority. Not only did they finish off Morecambe in the opening 12 minutes with some dazzling finishing, but they blunted the leading scorers in all four divisions in the process.

And all of this came without the services of last season’s leading goalscorer Reuben Reid, who was ruled out through injury. Graham Carey is quickly establishing himself as one of the best players in the division since arriving from Ross County over the summer. The only concern for Argyle is if he continues to produce performances like this, then higher league clubs will start to circle in the January transfer window.

It all points to a successful season for Argyle.
