WOOLERY SAYS THE FEELGOOD FACTOR IS BACK

- By Jack Miller

PHIL PARKINSON’S arrival at Bolton has coincided with a fine start to life in League One, but there are many factors at play in their revival, says Kaiyne Woolery.

The 21-year-old has been a leading light for the Wanderers as they look to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

By the end of last season, the Lancashire club could not buy a win, but now the mood has lifted around the club and Woolery is loving every minute of it.

“We hadn’t won an away game in 495 days and then Phil Parkinson comes along and wins two in five. What’s going on?” said the midfielder.

“I suppose everyone feels like they have to make amends for last season and put things right.

“It’s a totally different season to last year, isn’t it? Four out of four is perfect.

“We know it’s a long season ahead, but if we keep going like we have been and grinding out results, it can only be a good thing.

“I can only see the club going in the right direction.

“I don’t know if anything specific has changed, but there’s more togetherness in the team. We all seem happier.”

Their fine start has attracted attention from other clubs, however, as the window prepares to close on Wednesday.

The likes of Zach Clough and Jay Spearing have been sounded out, as has Woolery, but the attacking midfielder has not allowed his head to be turned.

“All of that can distract you – it’s just the transfer window,” he added.

“I’d like to say it can happen to anyone, but really it’s just speculation until something actually happens. And it hasn’t.

“I don’t really listen to anything like that. I just try to concentrate on the job.”
