APPLETON OPEN FOR BUSINESS

MICHAEL APPLETON is hopeful Oxford United can conclude more transfer business before the window closes.

The U’s have signed just one player, 19-year-old West Ham United striker Toni Martinez.

However, Appleton says there will be more wheeling and dealing at the Kassam Stadium.

“There might be one more and maybe one or two that go the other way,” said Appleton. “It might be a busy week.

“I’m the type that, if I think I can bring in some equally as good or better, then I’m more than happy not to stand in people’s way.”
