team mates

- Ed Upson - Milton Keynes Dons midfielder

Best mate at the club? Probably Dean Bowditch. I’ve known him for a long time and we’ve been at a few clubs together. He is someone I would say I’m closest to at the club, even though he’s been here a few years and I’ve only just come in this season. Last to buy dinner? Paul Downing is probably the tightest man I’ve ever seen. He’s normally always in the toilet when the bill comes after a meal! I think he forgets his wallet most of the time as well. Worst dressed at the club? I’d give another nomination to Dean Bowditch. He’s recently had to take his flares to get them tapered at the tailors. I also think he still wears his jeans from 1998. Dressing room DJ? Chuks Aneke normally takes control of the DJ set before a game. He’s quite good, to be fair, but even if he wasn’t you’re not allowed to say anything to him, anyway! You just do whatever he tells you to do. The songs are usually very good. He loves his music and he’s always listening to something new, so we trust him. Late for training? I’d say Nicky Maynard. We’re all fairly punctual, but on the odd occasion someone is late it will probably be Nicky. He doesn’t make bad excuses, though. He’s straightforward. Teacher’s pet? When the new fitness coach came in, I saw George Baldock in a full tracksuit in Holland & Barrett, straight after the first session, along with him and George Williams! It was only a couple of days after the coach had arrived, so the Georges moved fast. First on the dance floor? George Williams is lively on a night out. He’s got a few moves and techniques he likes to show off when we go out. He’s just generally a rhythmic man. Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party? That’s probably Daniel Powell. Dan is always a bit crazy. He just goes nuts. He’s very lively, but not just at parties. That’s his character all over. Worst tattoo? I’d have to say my room-mate, (goalkeeper) David Martin. He’s got two dragons on his back. I have asked him about their meaning, but I don’t think he’s too happy about them. There are two on his shoulder blades facing each other, for some reason. I think it was something he got when he was younger and now he’s stuck with them forever. Partial to a sunbed? George Baldock – he’s very keen to look his best at all times. He’s turned up to training a bit orange a few times, but in his defence he’s not the only one at the club who likes a sunbed... Going to make the best manager? Definitely skipper Dean Lewington. He’s been around the block a bit, he’s seen everything and he’s a good voice around the dressing room. He’s really good, a top professional, and when he speaks he knows what he’s talking about, so you just listen and hear what he has to say.
