FLECK SAYS IT’S ‘MOANY’ COUTTS!
SHEFFIELD United’s John Fleck has forged one of League One’s most effective unions with fellow central midfielder Paul Coutts but has revealed there is sometimes a little trouble in paradise.
Scotsmen Fleck, 25, and Coutts, 28, have been the heartbeat behind the Blades’ push for the Championship, with the pair dominating game after game as a result of their metronomic partnership in the middle of the park.
However, ex-Rangers man Fleck claims that his colleague, Coutts, is actually the biggest whiner at Bramall Lane!
“He doesn’t shout much when we’re out on the pitch but he’s very, very moany, especially if you don’t pass him the ball,” said the Blades midfielder.
“If he needs to raise his voice, then he will. In general, he’s pretty quiet but he really does like a moan!”
Naturally, Fleck has no qualms putting up with Coutts’ verbals.
He added: “I don’t know why the partnership works. Honestly, it’s hard to say. Sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t.
“I enjoy playing alongside him. We’re both probably quite similar players. We like getting on the ball and he likes to start it off and dictate things from the back.
“That probably suits me too.”
