CROSSES ‘WILL END NOUGHTS’

-

SOUTHEND have been pumping crosses into the box like there’s no tomorrow in recent times and boss Phil Brown insists it’s only a matter of time before the tactic starts paying dividends.

Simon Cox did tap home from Stephen McLaughlin’s centre in the 1-1 draw with Oxford last weekend but Brown believes the Shrimpers deserve even more success.

“The last two games we’ve got over 85 crosses into the penalty area,” he said. “That should be six or seven goals, but we’ve only got a couple.

“Things will start to fall for us – eventually they will do.”
