CONWAY’S RETURN IS DELAYED

BLACKBURN fans may be itching to see Craig Conway’s return, but Tony Mowbray intends to keep them waiting a little longer.

Winger Conway hasn’t featured since October due to a recurrence of a hamstring problem and, although he’s back in training, boss Mowbray doesn’t want to risk the 32year-old against Crewe in the FA Cup today.

“Craig has trained really well and I’m pretty sure if it was the last game of the season or it was an emergency he could play,” he said. “But I’m conscious he’s had a couple of back-to-back injuries and there’s no need to rush him back.”
