HADLER’S STAYING UPBEAT
GILLINGHAM debutant Tom Hadler insists he was not overawed despite being given a harsh introduction to first-team football.
The 21-year-old keeper had to pick the ball out of his net three times last weekend as the Gills were thumped by Blackpool, leaving them still in relegation danger, but Hadler claims he felt at home between the sticks.
He said: “I hope I showed what I could do, in what were difficult circumstances, in terms of the game and the result.
“You can only do your own personal job. I felt comfortable and that’s the biggest positive to take.”
