ELPHICK BACKS HULL TO SPARK...

- By Simon Pack

DEFENDER Tommy Elphick believes struggling Hull City are on the verge of “sparking something” which can kick-start their Championship campaign.

The Tigers have found themselves scrapping for points at the wrong end of the table for the majority of this season.

Despite a lack of consistency in converting chances, Elphick believes there are positive signs for the challenges ahead.

“You are not going to win games if you do not put the ball in the back of the net, so it’s something we need to start doing once again,” Elphick said.

“I really believe in the group of strikers we have at the club and their ability to do that, but confidence plays such a big part in football, especially when it comes to strikers and sticking the ball in the net.

“Just as I believe the team is one win away from sparking something, I think the strikers are each one goal away from going on a bit of a run.”

Elphick called for a united front as Hull look to drag themselves up the Championship table.

“We haven’t had the rub of the green of late, but it’s only a matter of time before we start taking our chances and winning games. We have all just got to stick together,” he said.
