FRIENDLY CANARIES SUCH A TONIC – RHODES

- By Tom Blackett

Rhodes is enjoying a new lease of life at Norwich.

Rhodes, who signed for the Canaries on a season-long loan from Sheffield Wednesday in July, has settled in well at Carrow Road, scoring both goals in the 2-1 win against Aston Villa.

Following the midweek Villa clash, he said: “Everybody is keen to just muck in and do the hard yards. With that attitude and mentality, that never-say-die attitude, it puts you in good stead.

“When I go into the dressing room, I feel like I can talk to everybody in there about anything. We all have mutual ground on at least something.

“It’s hard to explain but I have found that it’s not always like that in dressing rooms around the country and there are certain people you try to avoid.

“It’s not like that here. There’s a real warm feeling and it’s a terrific football club – that’s right from the directors and everyone on the board downwards.

“You can just talk to anyone around the training ground and I’m really loving being here at the moment.”

Head coach Daniel Farke praised the forward, saying: “I am pretty happy for him because no-one deserves to be the hero more than Jordan.

“Of course the team is the hero, but he deserves the headlines and he will handle it.

“I am happy for Jordan. From the first day he walked in I appreciated being able to work with him. It is a real pleasure for me.

“Even in the times when he had to wait a bit on the bench he was always there with so much support and so much commitment towards what we are doing.”
