GRANT’S SWITCH PAYS OFF
CONOR Grant was happy with his performance in an unfamiliar left-back role when Plymouth got the better of Gillingham.
The 23-year-old, more at home in midfield, created the second goal of a 3-1 win for striker Freddie Ladapo.
He was delighted to be back in the starting lineup and said: “I’ve played a half (at left-back) for Everton reserves, but not professionally, so it was a bit new to me.
“If I’m on the pitch, I’ll try and do as well as I can, in whatever position the manager asks me to play in.
“It’s not my natural position, but I thought I played it well.”
