MAYNARD GETS HIS REWARDS

BURY boss Ryan Lowe believes Nicky Maynard’s new contract is fully deserved.

After scoring five goals in his first five starts for the Shakers since joining in September, the striker has signed a deal until the end of the season.

Lowe said: “I am delighted that Nicky has extended his contract with us.

“I told him when he came to the club that if he works hard and scores goals, then his efforts will be rewarded, so it was only right that we offered him the extension.

“Nicky has earned this contract; it hasn’t just been given to him.”
