BARTON’S TOP-SIX TARGET

JOEY Barton is confident Fleetwood “are not a million miles away” from pushing for a top-six spot.

Town were narrowly beaten 1-0 by high-flying Peterborough in midweek and have now played all of the early-season pacesetters.

“I really do believe we can challenge at the top,” Barton said. “We are not a million miles away and we need to be clever about how we go about it.

“We have played everybody in the top six and I know we feel that we can gatecrash that group.

“Yes, we need to be a bit cuter in our play at times, but also there isn’t a massive gulf between the sides.”
