EVANS’ BIG HOPE FOR BASSONG

STEVE Evans has backed new signing Sebastien Bassong to help bring success to Peterborough.

The former Tottenham, Newcastle and Cameroon defender, 32, has been a free agent since leaving Norwich in the summer of 2017, but Evans believes he is ready to go after watching him in behind-closed-doors games with QPR.

Evans said: “We are pleased to be able to bring someone of Sebastien’s calibre to this football club. His CV is as impressive as we could have wished.

“The focus now is to get Seb up to speed in the Posh dressing room with the rest of the squad.”
