Best mate at the club?
It’s hard to say just one, but I get on well with George Saville who I played with before at Wolves. Also, big Aden Flint and Adam Clayton. I get on well with everyone to be honest, it’s a really good dressing room.
Last to buy dinner?
I’ve not seen it myself, but Daniel Ayala has a bad reputation going off what everyone else has said. I’ve heard he forgot his wallet a few times, that old chestnut!
Worst dressed?
Day-to-day I would say George Saville. He’s just lazy with his clothing and looks like he’s got his pyjamas on. No one really stands up as being badly dressed, so it has to be George for his day-to-day gear.
The pre-match dressing room DJ?
You’d be surprised but it’s actually our physio Chris Moseley. This happened before I got there, but he has been elected master of ceremony on the decks. Apparently, it’s a decision from above and he has been installed as DJ to keep the players happy.
Late for training?
There’s a few, Britt Assombalonga is always leaving it pretty tight. Also, Harry Chapman and Ashley Fletcher likes to cut it close. They’re quite blasé about it and they’ve been fined heavily, so at least it goes to a good cause. The club do a fundraiser and some of the money goes back into the dressing room.
Teacher’s pet?
I don’t know if he’s a teacher’s pet, but he definitely reminds me of a university student and that’s George Friend. He’s so polite and well mannered, it’s like he’s just come out of Yale or off the Harry Potter set. Everyone says how well brought up he is.
First on the dancefloor?
I can tell you the worst dancers and that’s George Saville and Aden Flint because he’s so tall. Everything he does is hilarious. With George it’s almost like he has headphones in listening to a different song. Very fidgety.
Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party?
I’m going to say Adam Clayton, he doesn’t really know his lyrics when the songs come on.
The Fifa king?
I’d say Paddy McNair. I’ve played against him and I was 4-0 down at halftime. That was a bad experience. He lives on his own so he’s literally getting in all the practice that you can imagine.
The worst tattoo?
It’s definitely Jordan Hugill. He’s got a pirate’s skull on his chest. His are very off the cuff. I’ve not had a detailed look and I’m sure there’s a good explanation behind some of them, but from the outside it’s hard to know what he was doing. I think he’s got a few from lads’ holidays, but it’s a weird mix. He loves them.
Going to make the best manager?
I think Grant Leadbitter. He seems to know the game really well and I think he would be a good manager. He has a good footballing eye. I wouldn’t rule myself out. I feel I could equip myself quite well.
