SEMI AND MILLERS ARE STILL IN THERE FIGHTING

-

ROTHERHAM were superb at Loftus Road in midweek to beat an out-of-form QPR 2-1 courtesy of two fine Semi Ajayi goals.

Ajayi also bagged a brace against Blackburn Rovers to secure all three points in early March and is now their top scorer with seven goals not bad for a holding midfielder!

Alongside Ajayi, Joe Mattock has been excellent, and he was fantastic against the Hoops.

The result was even more impressive as captain Will Vaulks was missing through suspension. With Reading and Wigan losing, three points here were a massive filip for the Millers.

I also saw Paul Warne’s men in a goalless draw at Millwall in early February.

Rotherham lined up with a back three and five in midfield with a point the intended result, and they got the job done.

Since then, they have changed to a 4-1-4-1 with Ajayi screening in front of the back four and they have adopted a slightly more adept approach, as they do have players with talent on the ball. Their results have been impressive.

Just one defeat in eight games heading into yesterday’s match against table-topping Norwich was testament to that.

If they keep showing the same sort of quality and commitment as they did against QPR, then they will give themselves a great chance of staying up.
