Verdict
HULL fans will tell you that their team can always be relied upon to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
See last season for proof as a live play-off chance at Christmas somehow ended in relegation from the Championship.
But even the most world-weary supporter must surely feel that the Tigers, 11 points clear of third-placed Sunderland,
are pretty much home and hosed.
Not this was a cigar job. Anything but. Fleetwood were stubborn foes and, at times, highly creative going forward.
Yet as a team that befits their lofty position, Hull somehow found a way to win after a resurgent second-half display.
Fleetwood left East Yorkshire with honour intact.
The play-offs are probably out of reach, but they could easily become a big player next season on this evidence.
