Team mates

- Jack Iredale Cambridge United defender

Best mate?

That’s tough, the changing room is a really good one. I’d probably say big Joe Ironside. I lost my shadow last year in Luke Hannant, but this season I’ve got big Joe and I’m pretty close with him. We have lunch and breakfast together, we get in and leave at a similar time and we’re always messing about.

Last to buy dinner?

I’d say Adam May. It was his birthday recently, and when it’s your birthday you’ve got to bring in a selection of cakes and stuff like that but the selection he brought in was really not up to standard and for that I’m going to have to go with Adam.

Worst dressed?

I know for a fact the boys are going to say me and I’m really not sure why, I think it’s because I’m an easy target. I’m going to say Dimitar Mitov. He’s got some questionable gear, I don’t know if it’s the Bulgarian influence but he has far too many zips for my liking. The jacket with the zips is really questionable. He also left a game a couple of weeks ago in what seemed a fullon spray on outfit.

Dressing room DJ?

Joe Ironside. He’s got a really wide variety to cater for and, in fairness to him, he does really well and takes his job very seriously. Last week he kicked off the set with Adele. He has different genres for different matches, it just depends on what kind of mood he’s in and what he thinks the team will respond to best, he does well.

Always late for training?

They blame it on the traffic but Jubril Okedina, Shilow Tracey and big Kai (McKenzie-Lyle) were late a couple of times so I’m going to have to single them out. They’re three of the most relaxed guys I’ve ever seen in my life. They cut it really fine for training. We give them the benefit of the doubt for games because they travel far and, to be fair, the last couple of weeks, they’ve been a few of the first boys in, because they were getting battered for it...

Teacher’s pet?

I think Greg Taylor, the skipper. He’s been injured lately but, other than that, he’s always talking to the gaffer about something. It’s a tough one, because he is the captain, so you can’t really hammer him too much, but I get on well with Greggie so I’ll say him.

First on the dancefloor?

Could be Joe as well, big Joe Ironside. I don’t think the relaxed guys like Jubril, Shilow and Kai would be first on there, but it’s game over once they are.

Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party?

Paul Digby. I’m not going to say any more but let’s just say he enjoyed himself a bit too much at the promotion party.

Best at FIFA?

I would have said me two years ago, but

I’ve not touched it for a while. I know the boys play pro clubs and stuff like that, but I’m not sure who would be the best. Adam May puts a lot of time in on FIFA, I think Ben Worman as well.

Worst tattoo?

That’s tough. I just got one recently as well, so I hope the lads wouldn’t say me! I haven’t actually seen any dodgy ones, I like the boys’ art, so I couldn’t really single anyone out there.

Best future manager?

I think Diggs (Paul Digby) would be good as a gaffer.

Liam O’Neill has got a managerial role in him, I think he’d be really good at that.
