ZEMURA FOCUSED DESPITE STAYING ON ICE

- CHAMPIONSHIP By Jack Billam

BOURNEMOUTH’S Jordan Zemura insists he is not worried about his contract situation.

The 22-year-old fullback’s deal is set to expire in the summer, but boss Scott Parker has said he wants talks to be put back to avoid any distractions.

Zemura has become a key cog for the Cherries since Parker’s arrival and the defender says he has no problem with waiting to resolve his future.

Asked if his contract situation had been on his mind, Zemura said: “No, not at all. At the end of the day, I think the gaffer was right. When we had the chat about it, it’s true, I’m still so young.

“So having talks about something like that is a bit like, ‘what do I worry about? Do I worry about this?’.

“So, for me, I just listen to the gaffer. I’ve listened to him since he’s first come in and just left it. Whatever comes, we’ll just revisit it when we need to.

“But, right now, it’s about playing and getting the job done.”

Earlier this week, Parker allowed defender Brennan Camp to join National League club Eastleigh on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old, who can play either as a fullback or centre-back, has risen through the academy since joining in 2007 and has had loans spells with Poole and Weymouth in recent years.

Parker is a big fan, and is looking forward to seeing Camp’s progress.

“He hasn’t played a lot, but I’ve been very impressed with Brennan,” said Parker.

“He needs a loan. I look forward to getting him back here in the summer.

“But I was very impressed with him. He was close, in and around us. It’s a good move for him.

“He can get some football and push a bit closer to us. We’ll make that gauge when he’s back.”
