The Galloway News - - DISTRICT NEWS -

Members of Gatehouse SWI have been getting out and about lately.

Last month more than 30 members and friends set off on an afternoon drive along the Ayrshire coast.

A stop was made at Woodlands, near Girvan, for tea and scones before travelling on to Dowhill Farm Shop where there was an opportunity to buy fresh produce. It was then into Ayr for a visit to the shops. A lovely tea at the Hollybush Inn was enjoyed before travelling home to Gatehouse.

In June, a group of members and friends travelled to Edinburgh to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia.

The first stop was in Moffat for morning coffee before continuing on to the Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh.

The group then boarded the Royal Yacht where they enjoyed a very interesting and enjoyable tour which gave an insight into how the Royals and the crew lived while on board.

There was a short time for shopping before boarding the bus to Moffat for high tea in Annandale Arms Hotel.

Mrs McConell thanked the bus driver on behalf of the members and everyone agreed it had been a very enjoyable day.
