‘Historic treasures’ for £1
Youngsters can visit some of the region’s most iconic historic attractions for £1.
Sites such as Sweetheart Abbey at New Abbey, Broughton House in Kirkcudbright andThreave Estate in Castle Douglas are in the scheme as part of the Year ofYoung People 2018.
Young Scot has teamed up with the NationalTrust for Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland and Historic Houses Association to offer low-price entry to anyone with aYoung Scot card.The card is available for free to anyone living in Scotland aged between 11 and 26.
Chief executive ofYoung Scot, Louise Macdonald, said: “Young people have told us they are keen to explore Scotland’s historic treasures and heritage sites and it is wonderful to see the sector engaging with young people in this way.”
