Awareness helped to save my life
Mike Greville is 60 and lives in Inchinnan in Renfrewshire.
“I contracted BAC Meningitis and sepsis in March, 2017, and had flu like symptoms.
“My wife realised I was really ill when she couldn’t wake me and my head was burning up even though my hands and feet were freezing cold.
“We called our GP who recognised signs.
“My wife called 999 – Fast response from Scot Ambulance – and paramedics knew signs.
“I was rushed to RAH Paisley (NHS Greater Glasgow) and medics here are really aware of sepsis and I received immediate lifesaving antibiotics.
“That awareness saved my life.”
