Exhibition heads to Castle Douglas
Two Stewartry artists have teamed up to tour Galloway with a joint exhibition of their work.
Twynholm-based photographer Tim Fuller and painter Sheena McCurrach, from Girthon, opened their “Land of the Rheged and Beyond” show at Whithorn Visitor Centre at the start of the month.
It will run until May 23 before opening at Castle Douglas Library from May 30 to June 9.
Billed as “a visual impression of landscape and otherness”, the exhibition captures elements of the landscape of Galloway and its rich legacy of ancient peoples and cultures, resonant with the colour and sounds of the natural world. Their work is atmospheric, each artist providing a spontaneous appreciation of the land and its forms and moods, flora and fauna. Last week’s winner was: Jim Jardine, St Andrew Drive, Castle Douglas.
