Big Yin pops in

Dal­beat­tie Men’s Shed had a visit fromThe Bi­gYin last week.

Co­me­dian Sir Billy Con­nolly popped in with a film crew work­ing on his lat­estTV se­ries as he tours around Scot­land.

He de­lighted mem­bers at the shed – named the best in Bri­tain last year – whose cur­rent projects in­clude a replica of a Skeoch Util­ity Car.

Sec­re­tary Ge­off Al­li­son said:“He was fan­tas­tic. He seemed to be gen­uinely in­ter­ested in the shed and noth­ing was too much trou­ble.There were a few flashes of hu­mour, he was happy to pose for self­ies and he stayed for a few hours.

“He took a par­tic­u­lar in­ter­est in the car, but he was also in­ter­ested in the other projects.”

Mem­bers of the shed were sworn to se­crecy about Billy’s ar­rival, only be­ing told when he was com­ing a few days be­fore­hand.

Af­ter vis­it­ing Dal­beat­tie, he trav­elled toWig­town for the next round of film­ing.The show is likely to be screened later this year or early in 2019.
