Prime lamb prices down

Wal­lets Marts Cas­tle Dou­glas Lim­ited had for­ward 1299 prime and cast sheep on Tues­day.

968 prime lambs sold to aver­age 178.02ppk. Again all classes cheaper on the week. Lambs lack­ing fin­ish are be­ing se­verely dis­counted as well fleshed lambs of all weights are what is re­quired.

Top price was heavy­weight Suf­folks from Messrs Brown,Trow­dale at £97.Top per kilo was out­stand­ing Tex el sat 215.4ppk from Messrs Wil­son,West Bar­mof­fity.

Larger numbers of cast sheep were for­ward and sold well to a top pf £122 forTex­els fromTown­head of Cul­loch.
