International soprano Emma Morwood was thrilled to sing in what could be the world’s smallest opera house this week.
Emma, pictured, was performing in one of Kirkcudbright’s beach huts to launch the programme for next month’s Festival of Light in the town.
She said: “It was quite an experience to sing in what might be the world’s smallest opera house and it’s such a beautiful part of the world here in Kirkcudbright.
“To have artists here from all over the country will be amazing and Sally Hobson has done a wonderful job of curating and creating a cohesive programme. Kirkcudbright is going to be a very exciting place to be for the duration of the festival.”
The festival, being held to mark the opening of the town’s new gallery, will feature light displays, craft workshops, a Diwali event, music, a lantern parade, fireworks and a 60s and 70s night.
It will take place from October 5 to 14 and we’ll have further previews in the next few weeks.
