Spe­cial cel­e­bra­tions at es­tate

Alexan­der Mc­Cul­loch cel­e­brated 50 years in charge of Ard­wall Es­tate in Gatehouse on Satur­day.

He took over the run­ning of the es­tate from his fa­ther, the late Wal­ter Mc­Cul­loch, in 1968.

Around 35 in­vited guests joined Alexan­der, his wife Fiona, their four chil­dren and their spouses for a dinner cel­e­bra­tion at Ard­wall House.

The evening also cel­e­brated the re­tire­ment of Peter McNi­chol, who has worked on the es­tate for 40 years.

The guests were treated to a short movie of the his­tory of Ard­wall which was broad­cast on BBC Land­ward in 1983 be­fore en­joy­ing a de­li­cious meal.

The es­tate staff gifted Alexan­der with a per­son­alised pic­ture and Fiona re­ceived a beau­ti­ful bou­quet of flow­ers.

A paint­ing of Ard­wall Is­land was gifted to Peter and the Mc­Cul­loch fam­ily pre­sented him with a Massey Fer­gu­son Border Fine Art or­na­ment.
