Lara Croft is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in gaming but this third version of the rebooted adventurer sits in the shadow of its predecessors.

The bizarre plot revolves around a conspiracy theory/apocalypse theory and while the stealth sequences, underwater puzzles, ancient ruins and crafty environmental obstacles are the equal of the best of the originals, the dreadful dialogue, repetitive action and uninventive design undermines it badly.

Lara is all about action and exploration in spectacular settings — and that’s why it’s such a disappointment.
