The Galloway News - - DUMFRIES INFIRMARY -

Seven teenagers escaped with minor injuries after a three–car crash outside Springholm on Friday night.

The incident, which happened around 11pm on the Dumfries side of the village, involved a Ford Fiesta ST, a VW Golf and an Audi A4.

All three cars were extensively damaged after careering off the road and crashing into a field. One of the cars automatically alerted emergency services to the crash.

None of the seven, all aged between 16 and 19, sustained serious injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses. PCTamsin Tyeson said:“This was a serious collision and could easily have resulted in serious if not fatal injuries.

“We understand the vehicles were all travelling together and want to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicles between Dumfries and the crash at Springholm. I would ask anyone who has dash-cam footage of the vehicles to contact Police Scotland.”
