Sharks in great form at Scotstoun festival

The Galloway News - - READER TRAVEL -

Stewartry Sharks P6/7’s travelled to Scotstoun on Sunday, home of Glasgow Warriors to take part in a festival.

A squad of 10 played in an eight-a-side tournament involving 16 teams from across the length and breadth of the west of Scotland.

In near perfect conditions this was a fantastic opportunity to play on the artificial pitch at the Warriors’ stadium.

Stewartry put in a solid performance winning against Ardrossan, Hillhead Jordanhill, Stirling County, Glasgow Accies and Ayr. Tiredness crept in allowing one loss to GHA. Everyone received a Glasgow Warriors goodie bag. This is an extremely encouraging start to the season against strong opposition and the squad should be proud of their performance.

Special thanks to all the parents for travelling to Glasgow.

Sunday, October 7 - training at Greenlaw 10.30am. New members always welcome.
