Char­ity lunch raised £1,000

A soup and sweet lunch at Kirkcud­bright raised more than £ 1,000 for Pan­cre­atic Can­cer Scot­land.

Fri­day’s event, held in mem­ory of lo­cal woman Issy Pit­cairn, made an in­cred­i­ble £1,071.

A won­der­ful ar­ray of soups and sweets were made and served up by an en­thu­si­atic group of vol­un­teers in the bowl­ing club.

Tom Pit­cairn, Issy’s hus­band said: “What a team, they were fan­tas­tic.

“Spe­cial thanks to Jean McMil­lan who or­gan­ised ev­ery­thing down to the last de­tail.

“Thanks also to Kirkcud­bright Bowl­ing Club for use of their ex­cel­lent club­house.

“And of course, thanks to all who came along and gave so gen­er­ously to this char­ity.”
