Dalry Secondary School has signed up to Poppy Scotland’s“1918 Poppy Pledge”to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice and the end of WW1.

The pledge aims to raise money to honour the men and women who fought in the First World War and in the many conflicts since.

It also raises vital funds to help continue support for the Armed Forces community in Scotland today.

Poppy Scotland has asked organisations around the country to each try to raise £1,918 to help improve the lives of exservicemen.

The young people at Dalry have already raised several hundred pounds through various themed activities supported by generous donations from local businesses.

The fundraising drive continues today with a coffee morning in the school from 10am–noon.
