From quilling to quizzes

Molly Broll, the pres­i­dent of Kirkcud­bright SWI, wel­comed mem­bers and four guests from theTwyn­holm in­sti­tute to the Oc­to­ber meet­ing.

Af­ter apolo­gies were noted, mem­bers were en­ter­tained by a wide range of items.

First was a demon­stra­tion of quilling, where they saw a but­ter­fly tak­ing shape.Then came an amus­ing poem, fol­lowed by a flo­ral ta­ble dec­o­ra­tion in pink and mauve. This was fol­lowed by quizzes on dances and parts of the body, fol­lowed by stand-up bingo and card elim­i­na­tion. Chris­tine Collins gave a vote of thanks be­fore tea was served.The en­ter­tain­ment fin­ished with a catch­phrase com­pe­ti­tion and an amus­ing story com­piled us­ing the names of many sweets. Af­ter the vis­i­tors had left, the busi­ness part of the meet­ing took place. Com­pe­ti­tion re­sults were: Tray bake:1 Jo Brown; 2 Molly Broll; 3 Liz Mackie; 4 Carolyn Solly.
