Firms aim for pie honours
Two Dumfries and Galloway firms are closing in on the prestigiousWorld Championship Scotch Pie awards.
Ballard Butchers and the Little Bakery have both been confirmed as finalists following a full day’s judging in Dunfermline.
And the news comes just days after Little Bakery bosses unveiled plans to create 10 new jobs in Kirkcudbright following the takeover of a former M Corson shop in St Cuthbert Street.
TheWorld Championship Scotch Pie award winners will be revealed on January 15.
Ballard Butchers, of Castle Douglas, and Little Bakery, of Heathhall, are nominated as finalists and Scottish Bakers’head judge Ian Nelson said:“The competition has been fierce. So Ballard Butchers and Little Bakery can both be proud to have come this far.
