Pupils at Springholm Primary took part in a variety of activities to celebrate the life of Robert Burns.
The whole school enjoyed a Burns lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties and Alexis Kneeshaw performed an“Address to the Haggis”.
She then worked with some of the children, who are competing in the Dumfries DGBA Burns competition, to give advice on performing Scottish poetry for an audience.
Local piper and Castle Douglas High School student Mickenzie Mitchell came and played the bagpipes for the whole school and then did a question and answer session about playing the bagpipes.
P5/6/7 did some Scottish country dancing and also enjoyed tasting some Scottish food including local cheeses, tablet and shortbread.
