Garden tours start date set
The region’s horticulturalists have a treat in store next week.
The beautiful Cally Gardens opens for the new season on March 1 and on Sunday, March 3, new owner Kevin Hughes is inviting visitors to take a special tour of the gardens.
Kevin, who has only been the custodian of Cally since May last year, says that apart from the amazing and exotic plant collection at the garden, the tour will also feature the changes that he has made already.
They will also look at the challenges ahead of the Cally team as they work to restore and renew this wonderful gem of the botanical world.
Kevin will also be introducing many of the new hardy plants and shrubs that he has introduced to the Cally collection, many being the first of their kind to be planted in Scotland and some the first introduction to the United Kingdom.
The tour commences at 2pm and is free to join.
Complimentary refreshments will be served at the end of the tour.
Cally Gardens are open 10am to 5pm Thursday through to Sunday. Normal admission to the gardens is £5 for adults and free for under 16s.
