Open air sermon
Nearly 60 people gathered to celebrate the dawn of Easter morning at 5.50am beside Carlingwark Loch.
People came together from all the local churches who make up Castle Douglas ChurchesTogether: the Churches of Scotland, the Roman Catholic Church, the Scottish Episcopal Church and the New Life Church. The short service was led by Revs Christopher Ketley, Sally Russell and Alison Burnside.
Afterwards an enjoyable breakfast of bacon rolls, toast, tea and coffee was served in the Gordon Memorial Hall. In this day of so much division in the world it was wonderful that people from all denominations and none can come together on this special day.
