Dal­beat­tie Star will still shine bright

Maxwell says team won’t suf­fer from the de­par­ture of some key play­ers

STU­ART GILLE­SPIE Dal­beat­tie Star boss Ritchie Maxwell reck­ons his squad won’t suf­fer f rom key play­ers leav­ing.

Hugh Cameron and Lewis Todd will be play­ing for Th­reave Rovers next sea­son, with for­ward Scott Mil­li­gan also head­ing for pas­tures new.

But Maxwell has wasted no time in sign­ing new play­ers in the month since he took over from Dar­ren Kerr.

He said: “They are all go­ing to be go­ing for dif­fer­ent rea­sons. It’s not for foot­balling rea­sons, it’s for per­sonal rea­sons and things with work.

“They have been big play­ers for the last few years but we are happy with the ones that we have brought in – we will be re­plac­ing qual­ity with qual­ity.

“We’ve got four signed up so far and we’re still look­ing at another two or three which will bring the squad up.

“We can’t say who they are at the mo­ment as they’re still con­tracted to other clubs but
