Frank insight on living with COPD
Pupils at Kirkcudbright Academy had the chance to interview a sufferer of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Martin Charters visited the school as part of the Breath schools engagement programme.
This was the first time someone who suffers from the disease has been included in one of the visits and he received a fantastic level of interest and barrage of questions from pupils, providing frank and meaningful replies that offered genuine insight into the impact of COPD on both quality of life and close family.
COPD is an incurable lung disease that is particularly prevalent in south west Scotland and Ireland.
The Breath Project is a cross-border project that tackles the disease.
